Several weekends ago, a friend and I took a short walk north to Bananas Foster Cafe. Located at 1147 W. Granville, the popular local spot was opened in February 2009 by owner

I wonder how can someone write an positive review about this restaurant when everyone I knows says it sucks.

I didn’t have a positive experience there either. I went on a Sunday morning and the service was poor. Also, their “pancakes” are deep fried in grease. This is not explained on the menu. Poor thinking perhaps? I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant at all to anyone and agree with the previous poster that M. Henrietta is a wiser choice.

I have always had a positive experience the several times I have been to the restaurant.

You know, I’ve eaten here a few times, and they always seem a little shaky. Something always feels indescribably “off.” Yet I always leave feeling that I enjoyed myself, and I’m glad to have a decent restaurant in this spot. True, M. Henrietta is more reliable, but I’m happy these guys are around too.

I have always had a bad experience here.

  • Jason

If it is British why do they call it a “bistro”?

  • David Murray

Oh please, say it isn’t so….. I had only one opportunity to dine at BFC and it was excellent. I took 6 friends there, even though I had never eaten there. I just liked the looks of the place…. and the fact that they had a connection to Britain. I promise to come back – and bring friends – if you’ll only re-open.

Obviously against popular opinion, but I have never understood the lines that waited to get in here.
