Saturday: Andersonville Santa Speedo Run
If you’re out and about on Clark Street this Saturday and encounter a flock of Santas in Speedos running down the streat, have no fear. A Santa Speedo Run is coming to Andersonville, and it’s for a good cause. The concept originally begain in Boston in 2000 when five friends ran through Boston’s high end shopping district in speedos and Santa hats as a practical joke. Since then, the idea caught speed and Bostonian’s have raised over $840K for charity.
The first ever Andersonville run will benefit Vital Bridges, who’s mission is to help people throughout metropolitan Chicago impacted by HIV and AIDS to improve their health and build self-sufficiency by providing food, nutrition, housing, case management and prevention services. The run will commence and end at SoFo Tap (4923 N Clark) and speedo-clad Santas will run down Clark Street to Balmoral and back.
Schedule of Events:
12:00pm – 1:30pm / Sign-in @ The Sofo Tap (4923 N Clark)
1:30pm / A few words while we get ready, then sing our Christmas Carol!
2:00pm / We begin our run along Clark St. north to Balmoral and back to Sofo (1 mile)
2:30pm / Awards
