This Public Notice is currently posted on the door of the space that was formerly The Writer’s Lounge located at Balmoral & Winthrop. The notice is calling for a zoning change to “establish restaurant with incidental liquor sale on first floor.”

    This is great news. Hopefully it will be as good as Pepitone’s. Speaking of which, I heard that the owners were going to try to reopen. Is this true? I know they participated in the restaurant crawl this summer, although they had to hold it on the outdoor patio section (at least that’s the the flyer said; I didn’t actually go).

    That is what I heard but that was months ago and I havent heard anything since.

    There are also now stickers posted on Pepitone’s front door basically saying “XXX equipment inside this building belongs to XXX company.” A company will do that when leased equipment is not being paid for and they cant gain access to get it back. Not a good sign, IMO.

    Yeah, but nothing can replace [especially the bryn mawr location that never opened] the sweet occassions.

    Is the Sweet Occasions not being built up? What a disappointment! I was excited to see that construction was progressing rapidly by the Bryn Mawr red line station only to see it was yet another Apartment Finder/Hunter/Your-Word-Here agency. It’s also a shame about Pepitone’s…I really enjoyed the place AND had just received some great coupons before their dalliance with fire. Alas and alack.
