Indian restaurant Marigold closed yesterday, just about a year after moving from Uptown to Andersonville.

I can’t image why they are closing, oh yeah their hours were weird. Who doesn’t open for lunch in Andersonville??

    • Simple Simon

Like any other restaurant there, they cater to the weekend suburban crowd. But as long as there are no “chains” all is well, right?
Besides, the indie dog groomer there couldn’t bring herself to wake up before noon to keep an appointment and she’s still there.

  • Ben Davis

    Well that sucks.

  • Mark McCormick

I’m not sure why someone would go to the trouble of opening a restaurant only to close it a year later in order to focus on their other restaurants. Isn’t that something that they might have taken into consideration BEFORE going to all that trouble? Sounds odd to me.

    • Simple Simon

Trendy in-trendy out. So Indian food wasn’t flavor of the week so now they’ll open an Italian/Mexican “fusion” deal and it’ll be talk of the strip…..for 6 months.

  • Simple Simon

An entire year?! Did they break Great Lakes Pizza’s record? The area REALLY needs some stability.

    “which was previously home to……”.

That’s very unwelcome news. I LOATHE italian / mediterranean / middle eastern cuisine so there aren’t many choices for me in Andersonville. The mussels in coconut broth were absolutely divine. I will miss it greatly. I hope something interesting goes into the space. Polish, thai, vietnamese, tex mex, just please don’t let it be yet another italian restaurant. Ack.
