i agree with scott, for all of the hype it was not much better then jewel, they have shallower shelves which means less inventory of items, for instance they have room on the shelves for 4 bottles of glass cleaner, if they run out how long until they replenish, the deli department, the 4-5 deli salads looked and tasted awful.. what happened to traditional deli salads like regular potato salad, macaroni salad, etc.. they do not have it, the bakery how do you buy 6-12 bagels, they have these little baskets for the bagels and each basket holds about 4 bagels.. so if i wanted 6 or even 12 of the same good luck.. parking is a huge issue, there is not enough of it, they do not need all of the huts upstairs for the carts. do they need one for every row of cars… also i found gallons of milk 25% higher at marianos then jewel.. jewel charges 2.22 regular price for a gallon of there milk, mariano for the same 2.99.. some prices are a bit lower, others higher then jewel… finally do they really need 16 check outs…

Scott- I haven’t been to the new location yet but I’m curious- what did you find was missing from the Edgewater store that you’ll have to get elsewhere?

so disappointed with this location….nothing like the other Mariano’s in the city…didn’t Edgewater deserve the same ????? hate that I still will need to go outside the neighborhood to shop

Nice article. You have a typo in the first sentence. “It was a beautiful morning for a first look at the new Marianp’s”. May want to change the p to an o in Mariano’s.
