Local Farmers Market Guide

Farmers Market season is upon us, and there are plenty of options to grab fresh goods from farmers, bakered goods and other vendors at markets in and around Edgewater/Andersonville. Below is a list of the markets in Edgewater/Andersonville, however check out the City of Chicago’s website for a list of over 70 across the city.
Andersonville Farmers Market
(On Berwyn between Clark & Ashland; Wednesdays from 3pm – 8pm begining June 13): In addition to a whole host of locally grown organic produce, the Andersonville Farmers Market features vendors selling cheeses, tofu, honey and more. Also check out their website for a schedule of cooking demos, performances from musicians and other family friendly entertainment.
Edgewater Farmers Market
(On the corner of Broadway and Norwood; Saturdays from 8am – 1pm begining June 9th): Located outside of True Nature Foods, the Edgewater Farmers Market continues to expand each year and will feature farmers and artisians selling fresh produce, jams, hot sauces, baked goods and more. In addition, the market will play host to a number of musicians offering entertainment and a pair of Loyola student-run businesses, Chain Links and Felice’s Pizza.
Loyola Farmers Market
(6590 N Sheridan; Mondays from 3pm – 7pm begining June 11th): Offering healthy, locally and sustainably grown produce and prepared foods, the Loyola Market is a direct result of a student project in the Loyola’s Solutions To Environmental Problems (STEP) Food Systems course. In addition to produce vendors will be selling meats, cheeses, coffee, soaps and more at prices that are competitive with grocery store chains.
