Dominick’s Vacant Land Still A Mystery

Vacant Land North Of the Dominick’s

The mystery fate of the grassy vacant land North of the dominick’s at Foster and Sheridan was partly solved when The Saddle and Cycle Club announced that they had purchased the land for $3.95 million. Since then our community has been abuzz about exactly what the plans are? This past week fencing has gone up and the grass is gone with a leveled out ground. Also, a few bulldozers and such have been tinkering around the space. I have made a phone to the 48th ward office, but they are in the dark as well (for now). The current rumor is that the Club bought the space to avoid high rise development there and that they will most likely extend the parking lot.

EdgevilleBuzz.com gets is getting a fair amount of concerned questions. I believe that the area residents deserve some sort of explanation as to what the exact plan is. It just seems to be the neighborly thing to do. To date there has been no return to my phone calls by the Club but I am hoping for a breakthrough.

Hopefully they will invest in some landscaping..

Doubt it. They landscape what is behind the fence where only their members can see.

Parking. They are laying down sheets of reinforcing material. You don’t do this if a building is going up.

Makes sense. Now when the politicians have their expensive fundraisers there, they won’t have to park on the lawn.

Neighborly’s got nothing to do with it….

  • Littleton Arts Uptown

They are preparing the grounds for a rodeo.

If we are lucky, it will be a bathhouse.

    A lawn bowling court!

Since the land was previously graded in such a way as to help prevent flooding and rainwater runoff, it would be helpful to know how they intend to mitigate this now that they’ve leveled it out.

Also, it’s ridiculous that the 48th ward alderman is “int the dark” about it. You can’t just bulldoze land ( even vacant) like that without a city permit.

If a parking lot is the price we pay to keep views and rents healthy at the Wyndham (and thus that building staying incredible) I’m fine with paying it. And I see the landscaping just fine from my kitchen!
