Everyone should try Bar Ombra down on 5310 N. Clark, they just added a wood burning oven and the chef is a real Italian connoisseur. Definitely a must try and an a great outdoor patio in the summer.

They have great pizza and salads. I’m not sure who had the “hothead and rude” experience but my inclination upon hearing that is to assume it came from a difficult customer. Maybe someone has it confused with that horrible Leonardo’s a few doors down.

How many other restaurant owners greet their regular patrons with a hello hug? Antica is a success because Mario works his butt off and is always on the premises to supervise the kitchen. It’s very rare to get a bad dish there. But I do wish he’d bring back the byob option.

At the time, it’s relatively high prices could be justified by the fact that you saved money by bringing your own wine. Now the prices are high across the board, for both the food and wine, given the kind of restaurant it is.
