Andersonville is full of benches, sidewalk cafes, and restaurant patios where you can spend time outdoors, but now there is a new option for people to hang out – in public in the street.

The side facing the street will likely be painted or possibly covered by a mural in the next few weeks.

  • Ash

That is really cool. Does Andersonville have to reimburse LAZ for using the parking spots?

  • Mark 1970

I was all for this until I saw this piece of garbage.

  • Kit

$15,000? Are you fucking kidding me? How can you possibly be praising this?

  • Cweber

    Andersonville already has

Um, these are clearly not going to last– they are made of particle board.

At least I know what design company not to use now.

I applaud the effort to make people stop and consider spending more time outdoors in the neighborhood. Sure, there are already benches – if you want to watch traffic go by on Clark. These benches create a something more like an outdoor living space. They are promoting interaction among neighbors, much like an actual park does. As for the not-so-pretty backside – I see a great opportunity for a mural or mosaic!

    Gross.

  • Jewelsedge

parking, busing, and even bicycling, is already poor quality.

When is there going to be seated added to this parklet? I saw it this weekend. It looks ok. I thought the blue things were for sitting but they’re too high and obviusly not comfortable.

  • Yages_99

Ugly, expensive, dangerous and poor use of much needed parking
